"DUDLEY! MR. DURSLEY! COME AND LOOK AT THIS SNAKE! YOU I think I can speak for my father in saying that Podhoretz, who has written repeated attacks on the book, has missed the point, or lets a lack of a sense of humor obscure it. But sometimes an attack can have a clarifying effect on why one really values a book and this was the case here. I remember being indignant when I when I first read it. For Podhoretz, Yossarian was not the lovable, shambolic, subversive anti-war anti-hero I (and almost everyone else, particularly of the Vietnam generation) thought him to be. He was a shameless, shameful shirker.

• News So what is Physics anyway? Simply put Physics is the study of energy. Okay that's a short answer, what does that mean, the study of energy? Well we can break down Physics into several units one of them is motion, you're familiar with motion, concepts like speed and velocity. Forces, physical forces include things like gravity and friction. Physical forces are energies also carried in the form of waves and when we talk about waves we're typically talking about things like sound waves and light waves.

Younger Main article: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (GBC)

I mentioned that there is not necessarily an overall story, but there are definitely themes. One is doing what is best for you no matter who gets stepped on in the process. Another is twisting the facts to make sure the ultimate outcome is what works best for you. And, of course, the BIG idea that has become a common colloquialism (I know I use it just about every day) is the situation of Catch-22. Early in the book, the first example of Catch-22 is that if you say you want to fly bombing missions, you must be crazy so they will take you off the missions – only someone crazy would want to fly missions. But, if you are not on the missions, your sanity is no longer in question so they will make you fly them. If you say you don’t want to fly them, you are sane so you will have to fly them. Basically, no matter how you feel about flying missions, you will end up flying them anyway! Situations like this are repeated throughout the book where there is no good answer to the situation at hand – often with hilarious and frustrating results. Little Whinging

Don't fall in the water, or you will die. But you just have to start Well, I’m 11 at the moment, and I started reading Harry Potter when I was 6. It wasn’t too bad and my parents both allowed me to. The movies however I watched when I was seven, so my advice to parents would be if your child is interested in Harry Potter ; read it with them. And watch it with them. It’s always fun to do things together!

Contents Kids are in peril often, mostly from fantasy creatures. A three-headed dog chases Harry and friends. Harry and Draco see a dead, bloody unicorn and are chased by a hooded figure in the Forbidden Forest. Harry and friends fight a troll and knock it unconscious, are nearly crushed by a constricting plant, are chased by flying keys, and pummeled by a life-sized chess board. One character dies by turning to dust. Mostly friendly ghosts roam the halls; the ghost Nearly Headless Nick shows how he got the name. Flashback to the (bloodless) death of Harry's parents and much discussion about how they died and the one who killed them.

• Self Help All that being said, it depends mostly on your family and your child’s maturity. Some kids might be ready for book 1 at 8 years old, and some might be more sensitive and have to wait until they are 9 or 10. And watch all the movies with your kids so you can talk about it with them afterwards. Whatever works for you family and your kid is just fine. Don’t hurry through the books all at once. Enjoy them slowly!!
