The virtue of this story is the postive feelings it conjures in its readers. Harry’s story is something that radiates acceptance, inclusion, and friendship. It invokes a sense of belonging. Inside these pages, you can find the impetus to see the better angels of humanity’s nature, and feel just a little better about the world around you. J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" series contains brilliant threads of foreshadowing and smaller details about character backstories. If you're a fan who hasn't reread the books in awhile, it's possible that you overlooked many of Rowling's planted hints and context clues.

Harry: Happy Christmas, Ron. [Harry notices Ron's sweater] What are you wearing? The topics are fairly logical. Occasionally, it feels like the book makes a right-hand turn (for example, ionic equations are given very sudden and swift treatment) and starts covering a subject for which the background has not been fully established.

Urgh! And so it begins! I never liked Malfoy and I’ll never do. Sorry, guys! Yes, I felt sorry for him after book 5 but he’s still a slimy little spoilt brat at the beginning of the series. Still, if his parents would have raised him differently he might have even turned out to be a nice guy. *sighs* • The Matrix (2000)

In Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Voldemort's manifestation is as a face on the back of Quirrell's head, an effect achieved by computer generated imagery. Ian Hart, the actor who played Quirrell in the same film, provided the voice and the facial source for this character. Voldemort also appears in a scene in the Forbidden Forest where he is seen drinking the blood of a unicorn. As Voldemort's face was altered enough by CG work, and Hart's voice was affected enough, there was no confusion by Hart's playing of the two roles. In that film, he was also shown in a flashback sequence when he arrived at the home of James and Lily Potter to kill them. In this scene Voldemort is played by Richard Bremmer, [38] though his face is never seen. His next appearance would be in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets as the 16-year-old Tom Marvolo Riddle (portrayed by Christian Coulson). Several scenes supposedly set in the 1990s featured car models that were not manufactured until after 2000. Many scenes set in London during Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 included buildings that were not constructed until after the 1990s, such as the London Eye (2000), The Gherkin (2004), and Millennium Bridge (2000). In 2010, Deathly Hallows: Part 1 used the song “ O Children” by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, which wasn’t released until 2004.

In 1999, Rowling sold the film rights of the first four Harry Potter books to Warner Bros. for a reported £1 million ($1.65 million in 1999). [72] Rowling demanded that the principal cast be kept strictly British but allowed for the casting of Irish actors such as the late Richard Harris as Dumbledore and of foreign actors as characters of the same nationalities in later books. [73] After extensive casting, [74] filming began in September 2000 at Leavesden Film Studios and in London, with production ending in July 2001. [75] Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was released in London on 14 November 2001. [76] [77] Reviewers' comments were positive, as reflected by an 80% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes [78] and by a score of 64% at Metacritic, representing "generally favourable reviews". Voldemort: " Seize him! SEIZE HIM!" In an attempt to force a second lightning strike, HBO lured the show’s director, Jean-Marc Vallée, back to adapt another female-fronted whodunnit, complete with megastar lead. But anyone expecting more of the same will have finished the first episode of Sharp Objects feeling a tad befuddled. Prioritising mood and thematic texture over narrative, the eight-parter was a confounding, almost deliberately inaccessible rebuff to those who craved more of Big Little Lies’ mommy mystery. It is also a far more fascinating and artistically satisfying experience, with far more substance than its entertaining yet more frivolous predecessor.
